Visual Step 6
Determine Pattern T Number ("PAT" or "PT"):


Select the pattern in the diagram that best matches your storm picture; 100% SUBJECTIVE. 
The PAT # is equal to the MET, or is equal to the MET +/- 0.5, ideally. 

IF (however) THE Data T (DT) is WELL DEFINED, then PAT should be set equal to the DT.
The PAT should only differ from the MET when the cloud signature is clearly stronger (or weaker) then the MET.
Ultimately, as the evidence regarding storm intensity becomes more and more difficult to determine, the rules state that you should bias your Final T number towards the MET.
